Road Tax Part ONE

My car's roadtax expired on the 5th of April this year. So, I went to the bank where my grant is being kept to get it, in order to get my roadtax renewed. There the nice little lady tells me that I do not need it, the bank can arrange to get the roadtax done for a small extra charge. I thought to myself, "sound good" but let me check on the extra charges. There is a tendency for small charges to become big charges, so it is always better to check it out first.

The extra charges as explained, is $10 for the rider who does the roadtax renewal, and another $10 for the courier service to send the roadtax to the bank where I can pick it up. Estimate time of renewal 2 days max. So I paid the fees and waited. Oh yeah, another thing, I had to call the bank in 2 days time to check if the roadtax has arrived. Thats the one thing I thought was really a let down. The bank should be the one calling the owners to tell them the roadtax has arrived instead of us playing roulette by calling everynow and then to check if the roadtax arrived. Oh well, it still is a very convenient service.

So anyways, put in the renewal request on Friday Morning, and was told it will be ready by Tuesday.

It is now Friday....and guess what, my roadtax is still not ready!!

Why?

Lets see...when I got the car, I bought a ONE year insurance policy for the car, but my salesman got a 6 MONTH roadtax only. So my roadtax expired in April, and while my insurance expires in September. So by since my roadtax expires in April, it means that I only have a balance of 5 months with my insurance, so I cant get the roadtax renewed as I needed a minimum of 6 MONTHS.

To be continued.....
